Businessman arrested on rape charge

Ara: A businessman outraged modesty of a married woman at Judge Bazaar under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district on Saturday evening. A named FIR was lodged with Bihia police station in this connection on the statement of the woman and  police arrested the businessman, who was forwarded to jail the same day. The police also brought the woman to Ara Sadar Hospital for her medical examination.

The SHO Bihia police station said that the woman was married in Jagdishpur but had not forgotten her lover. She deserted her husband and started living with her lover at Bihia for the last two year. But her lover also left her and so she had lodged an FIR against him with Bihia police station last week alleging that he sexually exploited her for two years. She also tried to commit suicide on June 26, 2016, and police had admitted her to Bihia Primary Health Centre (PHC).

The SHO said that on Saturday evening, the woman went to market to buy some households items. In the market, Anil Kumar alias Baul Sah called her to his shop at Judge Bazaar solve the problem between her and her lover. Later, he lured her inside the godown where he outraged her modesty at dagger point. On the other hand, the accused said that he was innocent and the woman herself invited him to the godown to meet him.
