Ara : A bridegroom Sudhir Kumar, 25, only son of Bridandanand of village Uttardaha under Tier police station was killed at village Pilapur under Jagdishpur police station on May 6, 2017, late night after `Jaimal’. Police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. An FIR has been lodged with Jagdishpur police station but no arrest has so far been made in this regard.
SHO, Jagdishpur police station, said that the marriage of daughter of Sudehswar Singh Kushwaha was to be solemnized at village Pilapur under Jagdishpur police station with Sudhir Kumar, son of Bridandanand of village Uttardaha under Tier police station. The baraat from Uttardaha came on May 6 and ‘jaimal’ was performed. Suddenly, a youth in the baraat party opened fire apparently targeting Sudhir Kumar and killed him and escaped from the scene, said the SHO.
The SHO said that police were searching for the accused and said he would be arrested very soon. He said that Sudhir Kumar had love affair with some other girl but was going to marry another girl.
