Patna : Five time champion Brazil defeated Costa Rica 2-0 in a Group E match in FIFA World Cup at St Petersburg Stadium, Russia, on June 22, 2018. Although Brazil won the match but Costa Rica gave them a run for their money. Midfielder Philippe Coutinho scored the first goal for Brazil in 91st minute while superstar Neymar, striker, scored the second goal for his country in the 97th minute from 6 yards on a pass from Douglas Costa.
Brazil, who are making their 21st appearance in the tournament, had won the World Cup in 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, and 2002. Costa Rica, on the other hand, are making their 5th appearance in the World Cup and rached the quarter-finals in 2014.
