Branch Manager, BOI, Ara, lodges FIR against loanee, guarantor

Ara : Branch Manager, Bank of India (BOI) , Ara branch, Shiv Shankar Kumar, on February 21, 2019, lodged a named FIR with Nawada police station, Ara, in Bhojpur district, against a loanee and a guarantor in connection with loan of about Rs 20 lakh from two banks by mortgaging the same land and house and also not returning the loan to either of the banks so far.

SHO, Nawada police station, said that Bal Birendra Kumar of Maurya Nagar at Anaith under Nawada police station took loan of Rs 5 lakh in 2013 and Rs 4.50 lakh in 2014 from the BOI after mortgaging the papers of his house and land but he did not return the loan and so his account became non-performing asset (NPA) in 2018. When the bank started process to recover the loan, it came to light that Bal Birendra Kumar had taken a loan of Rs 10 lakh from the Oriental Bank of Commerce by mortgaging the papers of the same house and land which is illegal. The SHO said that police will investigation the matter and would arrest the guilty soon.
