Buxar : A named FIR was lodged with Buxar Town police station on May 10, 2018, evening, against four persons:  Chandna Kesari, Deepak Agrawal, Praveen Agrawal and Abhishek Kesari, for allegedly selling of fake medicine. The FIR was lodged under Copy Right Act and section 420 of IPC. Police sent them to jail but released Sriman Narayan and Akik Kesari after interrogation as they were employees at the medical stores.

Director, Brand Protection Service Private Limited (BPSPL), Mustaffa Hussain, said that a team of BPSPL with the help of police had conducted raids at Kesari Medical, Chandan Pharma, and Devi Pharma on May 9, 2018, and seized fake medicine used mainly for treatment of Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C and Lever Cirrhosis worth lakhs of rupees. Police  arrested six persons : Chandan Kesari of Chandan Pharama, Deepak Agrawal and Praveen Agrawal of Devi Pahrama, and Abhishek Kesari, Sriman Narayan and Akik Kesari of Kesari Medical.

The arrested medical shop owners said that the medicine were not fake and their genuineness could be ascertained only after test at the laboratory though they failed to produce purchase receipts.

BPSPL Director Hussain said that the BPSPL is preparing list of retailers who had purchased medicine from these medical stores.
