Aurangabad: A fouteen year old boy Manish Kumar of village Tole under Nabinagar block in Aurangabad district was feared drowned to death in swollen Sone river on Saturday.

Manish had gone to see flood water near Koiridih where his footwear fell into river Sone river. As tried to catch his footwear he was swet away by the current of the river. Villagers said that body of Mainsh has not been recovered so far. Officials concerned were apprised of the incident and efforts were on to fish out the body.

It may be mentioned here that flood like prevails at different places under Daudnagar and Nabinagar block and SDRF team and the district level officials are camping there to tackle the situation and relief work is going on war footing under the guidance of Aurangabad DM Kawal Tanuj. He said life every civilian is precious and administration is leaving no any stone unturned to carry relief operation in affected area.

SDM (sadar) Surendra Prasad said that Manish of village Tole has drowned to death. The SDRF team has pressed into service to fish out the body.He said that the riverine areas had been completely evacuated.

The Gaya DM said,“ We are trying our level best to provide all assistance to locals in flood prone areas.” When asked about compensation, he said that it would be decided only after conducting survey of damage. He appealed the locals to take precaution and cooperate with the administration in carrying out relief work.
