Patna: Police on Thursday resorted to lathicharge to disperse an irate mob that had blocked the main road near Saidpur Hostel under Kadamkuan police station and set ablaze a stonechip laden tractor after a seven year old boy Mohit Kumar was crushed to death there by the tractor.

The incident took place when Mohit Kumar, a resident of Rampur Canal, riding a cycle was knocked down by a speeding tractor carrying stonechips resulting in instant death of the boy.

The tractor driver left the vehicle on the spot and escaped from there. As the locals came to know about the death of a boy in a road mishap, they set ablaze the tractor.
