Both units of Kanti Thermal Power Plant closed due to coal shortage

Muzaffarpur : The second unit of Kanti Thermal Power Plant closed on January 14 evening due to coal shortage causing power crisis in Muzaffarpur district. With the closure of the second unit, both the units of Kanti Thermal Power Plant are closed now. The first unit had closed earlier due to coal shortage. Power is being supplied to villages on two hour rotation basis since January 14. All the Grids in the district have been informed about the power crisis. Kanti Thermal Power Plant officials say coal shortage often leads to closure of its power producing unirs.
