Muzaffarpur : Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly and senior BJP leader Prem Kumar on January 14 evening lashed out at the Grand Alliance (GA) government for the deteriorating law and order in the state. Kumar said that like the previous UPA government at the centre, the GA government in Bihar headed by Nitish Kumar was being remote controlled. The BJP leader was apparently referring to the influence of RJD chief Lalu Prasad in the GA government.

Addressing a press conference at the Gobarsahi residence of Kurhni BJP legislator Kedar Prasad Gupta, the leader of opposition said that girls were not feeling safe in the GA regime. Kumar referred to murder of a girl inmate of Ambedkar Hostel, Hajipur, in Vashali district recently in this regard. The girl belonged Kurhni in Muzaffarpur district. Kumar had visited the hostel on January 14 to inquire into the incident. He said the hostel boundarywall was very weak facilitating entry of anti-social elements into it. He said although matriculation exam is near yet all the girls of the hostel have returned home.

Kumar visited Fatehpur Kasturi village under Kurhni block to meet the parents of the deceased girl and promised justice to them. He demanded security to her family and a government job to a family member. Kumar said that the BJP would soon submit a memorandum to the Governor in this connection. He said that Nitish Kumar had improved law and order when he headed the NDA government but GA government was being run by RJD chief Lalu Prasad. Kumar said four journalists had been killed in GA regime. The BJP leader also said that Nitish’s Nischay Yatra was  pushing the state backward.
