Bokaro: ( Jharkhand) : Taking no chances after witnessing ugly scenes  during  Ram Navmi festival  last year, the security forces  led by Chas SDO  Satish Chandra, on the direction of  Bokaro deputy commissioner (DC) R M Ray,    staged flag march in all sensitive areas of Bokaro including the four police station zones —City police station, Balidih, Maraphari and Chas – giving clear signals to law breakers that district administration was ready to give befitting reply to law breakers this year.

The flag march  started from Dharmashala Mor, Mahavir Chowk, Jodhadih Mor, ITI Mor  besides at Sivandih, Marpahari, Naya Mor, Sona  Tand  and other spots.  According to Bokaro DC, cops  and district officials have been directed to keep a close vigil on sensitive zone of Bokaro where round the clock patrolling started from April 3, 2017, itself. Talking to this reporter, Bokaro DC Ray said that he was in constant touch with all officials including Bokaro SP Y S Ramesh who is himself monitoring security arrangements in the district.

“I am more concerned about rumour mongering which had vitiated congenial atmosphere last year hence I have asked officials to keep a close watch on rumour mongers and check it with iron hand. All social media  messages are also being  monitored. We have installed more than 5 dozen CCTVs on the  entire route of the city while cops in civil resses and special branch sleuths are  also on the job, ” said DC Ray.

Bokaro  SP  Y S Ramesh stated that  round the clock patrolling in earmarked sensitive police station of Bokaro has started. ” We are on high alert mode,” stated the SP.

It may be mentioned here that in 2016 stone pelting incidents and bloodshed were witnessed during Ram Navmi procession  which resulted in imposition of curfew under 4 police station for two days. Later  in the report sent to special  branch, it was clearly pointed out that it was total failure on part of police and administration which failed to gauge the problems and did not have reserve force  to nip the problems in the bud when few hooligans started pelting stones at Sivandih. It  was  the first time that Bokaro had witnessed violence on occasion of Ramnavmi  procession.
