Patna:  Body of an assistant sub-inspector (ASI)  of police Rajaram Chaudhury was found on four lane road near Fatuha, 30 km from here, on Saturday morning. Chaudhury, a resident of Manihari in Katihar district, was posted at Telhara police station in Nalanda district.
Police found ASI’s motorcycle on the  national highway. His service revolver was also looted in the incident. Police could not find blood stains near the motorcycle leading to suspension he might have been shot dead elsewhere. Mrityunjay Singh, President of Bihar Policmen Association, condemned the ASI’s killing and asked the policemen to deal firmly with the criminals within law.
Zonal IG  N H Khan constituted a SIT consisting of officers of Nalanda and Patna police led by senior SP of Patna Manu Maharaaj to probe the killing of ASI as well as other officers killed in the recent past.
