Body of 12 year old girl found in sugarcane field

Bagaha : Mystery shrouds the death of a 12 year old girl, daughter of Rambilas Bhar of village Koluwa under Chautarwa police station in Bagaha police district, whose body was recovered by her family members and villagers from a sugarcane field. The body was handed over to police on January 15, 2018, evening. Police brought the body at Government Sub-divisional hospital, Bagaha, for autoplay, on January 16.

Local sources said that the deceased had gone alone to a sugarcane field at the village to cut grass on January 15 morning. When she did not return home till evening, her parents with the help of neighbours started searching for her and recovered the body.

It is suspected that she was raped and then strangulated to death by someone. But, SHO, Chautarwa police station, Dipak Samrat, denied the rape and said it will be confirmed only after post-mortem report. A case has been lodged in this connection and police are investigating into the incident, SDPO, Bagaha, Sanjiv Kumar said on January 16.
