Motihari :  Union agriculture minister  Radha Mohan Singh on Friday  hailed the  victory of the BJP in Assam as historic and congratulated the  people of the state for supporting the party for all round and inclusive development of the state.

Singh said this mandate  has made it clear that the BJP is fast getting popular acceptance  in all regions of the country  which augurs  well for the democracy. He also lauded the efforts of the dedicated workers and leaders of BJP of West Bengal , Tamilnadu  and Kerala  saying they put up a spirited  performance. He was participating at a function organised at party office at Motihari to celebrate BJP’s victory in Assam.

Talking to newsmen, Singh said   there should not be politics in development of the region  but  some states like Bihar  are putting hurdles in implemention of  some important schemes and appealed to the drought affected states  to take
immediate steps to fight drought before onset of monsoon.”  For the first time  in the country, PM Narendra Modi had sat with CMs of drought affected states for hours together and shown such seriousness in giving relief  to the people suffering from famine and water scarcity,” he said .

He said each state concerned has been requested to prepare an  action plan  to tide over  challenge like shortage and
scarcity of drinking water, conservation efforts and uses of existing water resources  optimally.For its preparation and
implementation, the state have been requested to use innovation and technology to address the challenge of water conservation and water security, Singh said. He said the states were requested  to undertake a major drive for construction of farm ponds, adopt micro irrigation and grow crops requiring less water. He also pleaded for  recycling waste water and its use it for irrigation  besides completion of vmissing links of canals . Singh said moist of the canals under Gandak canal system in East and West champaran in Bihar were defunct.
