Patna : The BJP will support a government headed by JD(U) national president Nitish Kumar in Bihar. CM Nitish Kumar, who was heading the Grand Alliance government since November 2015, resigned on July 26, 2017, after RJD chief Lalu Prasad said that his son and Deputy CM Tejaswi Yadav would not resign in the wake of CBI making him accused in land for hotel scam resigned on July 5.

BJP legislature party (BJPLP) leader and former Bihar Deputy CM Sushil Kumar Modi on July 26 night said that he had sopken to Nitish Kumar and would soon inform the governor about NDA’s support to Nitish Kumar. The BJP will be a partner in the government which would signal Nitish’s return to NDA fold. Modi and Bihar BJP chief Nitayanand Rai, MP, met Nitish on July 26 night and conveyed his evening to inform him that the BJP had decided to support him and the government headed by him.
