Dhanbad ( Jharkhand) : Twentyone days after gruesome murder of former Dhanbad deputy mayor and congress leader Niraj Singh, Jharia (Dhanbad) BJP MLA Sanjiv Singh, one of the key accused in the murder case, surrendered at Saraidhela police station on April 11, 2017, after warrant of arrest was issued against him by a Dhanbad court the same day.
Police sources started that as soon as warrant was procured by Saraidhela police inspector Niranjan Tewary, the investigating officer (IO) of the murder case, from Dhanbad court at about 12 noon and six teams of cops of different locations took off to ‘Singh mansion’ (Jharia) and even Kunti Niwas (Saraidhela –Dhanbad), Sanjiv Singh with dozens of his supporters rushed to Saraidhela police station and surrendered there.
Talking to the Speed Post News Network, Coal belt DIG Saket Singh, who also rushed to Dhanbad from Bokaro, said that the BJP MLA Sanjiv Singh surrendered at Saridhela police station on April 11 after coming to know that court has issued warrant of arrest against him. “Police will once again interrogate Sanjiv Singh whose name figures as main accused in FIR filed in Neeraj Singh murder case,” said DIG Singh.
Saraidhela inspector and IO the case Niranjan Tewary had on April 10, 2017, prayed for warrant before the court citing forensic science laboratory report for arrest of Sanjiv Singh, which was allowing on April 11. It may be mentioned here that Congress leader Neeraj Singh was shot dead on March 21, 2017, night along with three others at Dhanbad.
