Ara : Bhojpur police brought Haresh Mishra and his two brothers Dhananjay Mishra and Kishun Mishra over to Ara from Bengal on transit remand under tight security late December 27 evening. Bhojpur SP Kshatranil Singh had sent a 10- member police team to Kolkata on December 26 after Haresh Mishra, who carried a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head, was arrested from Utter Pada locality in Hugali district in Bengal on December 25, 2016, by a special of STF from Patna in connection with murder of former Bihar BJP vice-president, Bisheshwar Ojha on February 12, 2016.

The STF team arrested his two brothers: Dhananjay Mishra and Kishun Mishra from Birala Mor in West Bengal through mobile surveillance on December 26. Police is still hunting to arrest Brajesh Mishra, brother of Haresh who also carries a reward of Rs 50,000 on his head.

The STF team arrested Kishun Mishra, son of Shivjeet Mishra, after Haresh’s arrest. He is named in a number of cases including murder of Mako Ojha. Police had made him named accused for the first time in the murder of Munna Ojha in 2011. Later, police arrested him on April 17, 2013, in connection with murder of Mako Ojha of Sahjauli and again in October 2013 for murder of Kishun Mallah. He succeeded in getting bail but later failed to appear in the court on time and so the court had rejected his bail and issued arrest warrant against him.

Bhojpur SP Kshatranil Singh said that the main reason behind the murder of Bisheshwar Ojha will come to light after interrogation of Haresh and his brothers. He said Brajesh will soon be in police dragnet. Haresh entered crime world in 2001 and 14 criminal cases of murder, dacoity are lodged with police against him. The SP said that Haresh Mishra, Dhananjay Mishra and Kishun Mishra are being interrogated and hoped that the police will produce them in the court on December 29.

Bisheshwar Ojha, son of Raj Kishore Ojha, was shot dead while his driver Rajesh Kumar Ojha and Kamaldeo Ojha, husband of Devkuli Mukhia were seriously injured. The incident took place when he was going to Barisawan on his Scorpio in the evening on February 12, 2016. When he reached near Karnamepur-Sonbarasa Bazaar under Shahpur police station, about two dozen unidentified armed persons fired from with AK-47  at him killing him on the spot.

A named FIR was lodged with Shahpur police station against seven persons: Haresh Mishra, his brother Brahesh Mishra, sons of Shivjeet Mishra of Sonbarsha village under Karnamepur police outpost, Umakant Mishra, Tunna Mishra, Basant Mishra of Sonbarsha and Pappu Singh of Ishwarpura by Rajnath Ojha, nephew of Bisheshwar Ojha. Police had arrested Harendra Singh alias Bhuar Singh of Ishwarpura village and kept half a dozen in custody for interrogation in this regard.  Police later sent Harendra to jail. Bisheshwar Ojha had contested assembly election from Shahpur assembly constituency as BJP candidate in place of his sister-in-law (brother’s wife) and sitting MLA, Munni Devi unsuccessfully.

Bisheshwar’s criminal career started in 1990 when he fired to free his 100 bigha of land from illegal occupants of Sonbarsha. The government had announced a reward of Rs. 25000 on his head in 2002 and he was arrested by Delhi police in 2006 and was kept in Tihar jail. ADG (Headquarter) Sunil Kumar had said Bisheshwar Ojha had criminal background and at least 15 cases of different nature had been lodged against him.
