Sitamarhi : Six bike borne criminals looted over Rs 32.36 lakh from Sheohar branch of UCO Bank in North Bihar after making the bank employees and few customers hostage at gun point between at 12.30 and 1 pm on October 28, 2019, in an operation just about 15 minutes.
They also hit Head Cashier Satish Kumar Singh on head with the butt of a pistol when he appeared reluctant to hand over key of the bank locker-room to the criminals. The criminals snatched key from him. The bank is located under Town Police Station, Sheohar.
Sheohar SP Santosh Kumar said that he has constituted an SIT to crack the case and arrest the criminals involved in bank dacoity. He said that police were looking into the CCTV footage of the bank as well as those installed in the adjoining areas. The District police is also co-ordinating the police of neighbouring districts to locate the criminals, the SP said and added that the criminals came riding two bikes. Police are conducting raids at the possible hideout of criminals, he said. The SP also visited the spot.
