Patna : Bihar Government on November 1, 2017, decided to introduce reservations in all services being provided in the state by way of outsourcing. The State Cabinet approved a proposal to this effect at its meeting on November 1 chaired by CM Nitish Kumar, according to Principal Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat Department, Brajesh Mehrotra. JD(U) General Secretary and former Minister Shyam Rajak said that Bihar is the first state to introduce reservation in outsourced services.

The Cabinet also approved a proposals for allocation of Rs 150.64 crore for setting up of eight training centres at as many Bihar Military Police centres, where 8,000 newly recruited police personnel including women will be trained. The Cabinet also santioned Rs 52 crore from Bihar Contingency Fund for makeshift tent cities in Patna for the closing ceremony of ‘Prakash Parv’, a year-long celebration of the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Gobind Singh.
