Muzaffarpur : Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, who is on Vikas Samiksha Yatra, on December 15, 2017, said that Prohibition, which was enforced in the state in April 2016, had brought happiniess to every household and now his government has launched a campaign to prevent Child Marriage and eradication of Dowry system.
Addressing a public meeting at High School, Jarang, premises, under Gaighat Block in Muzaffarpur district, Nitish said that the state was now witnessing a phase of social reforms. He also claimed that the development was now visible in every part of the state.
Nitish urged the people to participate in the human chain to be formed across the state on January 21, 2018, for prevention of Child Marriage and eradication of Dowry system. Animal and Fishery Resouces Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras and Urban Development andHousing Minister Suresh Sharma also addressed the meeting. Jarang having a population of 21,145 is 3o km away from Muzaffarpur.
Nitish on December 15 inaugurated 125 completed schemes and laid foundation of 222 schemes. Chief Secretary Anjani Kumar Singh and DGP P K Thakur were also present on the occasion.
