Patna : Replying to England’s 403 in the first innings, Australia were 203/3 at stumps on the second day of third Ashes test at WACA, Perth, Australia, on December 15,2017, with Captain Steven Smith batting on 92 in 122 deliveries hitting 14 fours and a six and Shaun March batting on 7 in 36 deliveries. The third Australian wicket fell when the score was 179. Australia trail by 200 runs.

Australian openers Cameron Bancroft and David Warners were out for 25 and 22 respectively. Both the wickets were taken by England fast bowler Craig Overton. Usman Khwaja scored 50 and was out to Chris Woakes.

Earlier, resuming at their overnight score of 305/4 with Dawid Malan batting on 110 and wicketkeeper Jonny Bairstow batting on 75, England were all out for 403. Malan was out for 140 to spinner Nathan Lyon when England’s score was 368. Bairstow made 119. Malan and Bairstow were involved in a stand  of 237 run. Mitchell Starc took the wicket of Bairstow. The last 6 England wicket fell for only 35 runs. For Australia, fast bowlers Starc took 4/91, Josh Hazlewood took 3/92 and Pat Cummins 2/84. Spinner Lyon took 1/73.
