Patna : Minority, Welfare and Sugarcane Industries Minister, Bihar Government, Khurshid aka Firoz Ahmad on July 5, 2018, received a call from an unidentified caller asking him to quit JD(U) immediately or face dire consequences. Ahmad was talking to the people at his official residence when he received the call at 11.15 am.
Ahmad received the call from an Internet number. He has lodged an FIR with Kotwali police station (PS) in this connection. SHO, Kotwali PS, confirmed that the Minister had lodged an FIR.
The Minister, who represents Sikta assembly constituency in West Champaran district in North Bihar, has received such calls a number of times with different motives including ‘rangdaari’ (extortion) either at Patna or in his constituency.
The Minister said that the caller sounded a maniac. He also stated that these are the obvious hazards of politics and he doesn’t attach any importance to such calls. The JD(U) leader is serving his second term in the assembly.
