Patna: Bihar government on Tuesday urged the union water resources ministry to expedite intra- state linking of rivers in the state for which sanction was approved in 2014 itself.  Speaking at the tenth meeting of the central water development authority in New Delhi, Bihar Water Resources minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lallan Singh suggested the Burhi Gandak-Ganga linking project and Kosi-Mahananda river linking projects for which detailed project reports were prepared and submitted to central water authority in 2014 should be started immediately.
Singh said work on Kosi-Bagmati link project and Ganga-Gangai link project in Buxar-Ara also deserved attention of the central water development authority. He said technical advisory committee of the authority was sitting on the DPRs for the last two years. Principal secretary, Water esources departmnt, Bihar government, Arun Kumar Singh was also present at the meeting presided oevr by Union Water resources and Ganga minister Uma Bharti.
