Patna: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Monday announced that the government will open plus two schools at panchayat levels. Arrangements in that direction are being made, Niyish said at S K Memorial Hall, where Teachers’ Day celebrations were organised by the education department.
The CM said there should be a uniform education system all over the country. He claimed ever since the cycle scheme for school going girls was introduced in 2005, there has been an eight fold increase in enrolment of girls in the secondary schools.To prevent eve-teasing, martial arts training classes are being introduced in schools, he said. Bihar is the only state where more than 20% of the state budget is being spent on education sector.

Nitish regretted the Intermediate toppers scam and said this brought a bad name to Bihar but corrective measures are being taken.Those  who were entrusted with the task of holding fair examinations and results betrayed the trust of the people, he said. The chief minister honoured school teachers: Kashinath Tripathi, Sanjay Kumar Mishra, Nandkishore Singh, Nitu Singh, Ila Sinha, Asha Kumari, Ramashankar Giri, Gyanbardhan Kanth, Binod Kumar Singh, Manoj Kumar and Arwind Kumar Singh.
