Bagaha: Medical college students at Bettiah went on token strike on Monday. The out patient department (OPD) remained closed during strike period. College principal Dr Rajiv Ranjan Prasad said that medical students were demanding intensive care unit (ICU), sufficient toilets, bathrooms and other basic amenities on the college campus besides hostelfor students.

The Government medical college, Bettiah runs from the buildings of MJK hospital.  Soon after getting information about the strike, West Champaran DM Lokesh Kumar Singh reached there and persuaded the students to call off their by telling them that the construction of medical college building would start within two month with all the basic amenities.The principal said that he and the DM will jointly search for accomodation for the medical college students in Bettiah town.
