Patna: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on Wednesday asked officials to be ready to tackle both flood and drought in the state. Reviewing the preparation being made to handle both flood and drought, the chief minister said that the Disaster management department (DMD) had chalked out plans to tackcle both. The CM said monsoon fluctuations could cause flood or drought. He said siltation of rivers particularly Ganga causes flood in adjoining areas. He directed asked all the DMs to purchase relief materials in advance.
