Ara: Students are making beeline to different Colleges and cyber cafes for applying for admission to Intermediate and BA Part I since morning every day. As all the colleges are made examination centres for BA Part I, the admission seekers assemble at the constituent colleges since early morning for coupons at the rate of Rs 100 each. After taking coupons, the students go to cyber cafes for filling up admission forms as the Veer Kuer Singh University (VKSU), Ara, administration (VKSU) has made filling of admission forms online mandatory.

The VKSU has 17 constituent colleges and the students prefer constituent colleges. Bhojpur district headquarters, Ara has five constituent colleges: H D Jain College, Maharaja College, S B College, Jagjiwan College and Mahanth Mahadevanand Mahila Mahavidyalaya (MMMM). The last dates of submission of admission forms have been announced by the colleges. The last dates of submission of forms or H D Jain College for Intermediate and BA Part I is  June 28 while for Maharaja College it is June 30  for Intermediate and June 25 for for B A Part I. The last date of  submission of admission form for Intermediate and B A Part I for Jagjiwan College, SB College and MMMM is June 25. The last date for submission of admission forms for Maharaja College may be extended, college sources said.

Though online submission of admission forms has been made mandatory for constituent colleges under the VKSU, students are applying for admission offline in affiliated colleges under the university. The university has directed all the colleges, both constituents or affiliated, to complete admission work for B A Part I by June end.

Vice-Chancellor, VKSU, Leela Chand Sah said that the joint entrance examination for B Ed for 600 seats would be held on July 12 as announced earlier. He said the Private B.Ed Colleges had moved to Patna High Court against joint entrance examination and the university administration could consider change of examination date subject to outcome of the case. He said six B Ed colleges including the education department at VKSU and education department at S P Jain College, Sasaram,h are to be affiliated and the university administration has sent letter to the office of the Chancellor about holding joint entrance examination for the BEd and also about  the private B.Ed colleges moving  Patna High Court. The VC said that the private B Ed College administrations had published advertisement for admission and if the court verdict comes  in their favour, they would not appear at the joint entrance examination. But, if the verdict goes against them, they have to appear at the joint entrance examination as the office of the Chancellor had issued an ordinance in this regard earlier.
