Patna : Bihar CM Nitish Kumar on December 27 presented the new year’s gift to young advocates from reserved categories in the form of 50% reservations in appoinment in judicial services. Bihar cabinet on December 27 decided to reserve 50 % of the posts in recruitment of judicial servcies for candidates of OBCs, SCs and STs.

The Cabinet also decided to increase the ex-gratia payment to families of the members of army and security forces from Bihar who die in action from Rs 5 to Rs 11 lakh. The state government will arrange funeral of the martyrs with full army honours, the cabinet decided. In all 15 items on the agenda were approved.

Immediately after the cabinet meeting, Nitish visited Buddha Memorial Park to see progress of ongoing works there. He will attend a programme at the park on Wednesday.
