Ara : Bhojpur police seized 161 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and also arrested a liquor smuggler near Aanar-Jamua main road under Bihia police station in the wee hour on June 20, 2017, though his associate managed to escape.
Later, police forwarded the arrested identified as Meeraz Ansari, son of Sameer Ansari of Dhobi Mohalla under Bihia police station, to jail. Police also seized a motorcycle. The liquor smuggler, who escaped from the scene, was identified as Md Sirazuddin, son of Md Zamaluddin, living near Bihia High School under Bihia police station.
SHO, Bihia police station, Bimlesh Kumar said that he got information that a consignment of liquor was being brought from Uttar Pradesh from a boat and would be downloaded at Shivpur ghat. He immediately swung into action and arrested one of the liquor smugglers with 161 bottles of IMFL.
