Ara : Bhojpur police on December 26, 2018, arrested two miscreants in connection with murder of Sohail Akhtar, a mobile tower employee, at village Daulatpur under Ara Mufassil police station in Bhojpur district and also seized a cellphone from their possession.

The arrested miscreants were identified as Saroj Kumar Yadav, son of Bharat Yadav, and Guddu Kumar Gond, son of late Mahavir Gond of Balua-Daulatpur village under Ara Mufassil police station. Later,  police sent them to jail.

Bhojpur SP Aditya Kumar said that some miscreants had shot dead a mobile tower employee Sohail Akhtar at village Daultpur  under Ara Muffassil police station on November 17, 2018. An FIR was lodged with Ara Muffassil police station in gthis connection after which the SP constituted a police team under SDPO Pankaj Kumar. The police team, after much effort, arrested the miscreants.

The SP said that Mukesh Kumar Yadav worked as a guard at the Vodaphone mobile tower at village Daulatpur but later the Vodaphone company removed him and appointed Sohail Akhat in his place. The SP further said that Sohail Akhtar allegedly had illicit relation with a woman of the village and some persons used to oppose it. The SP said Saroj Yadav too had illicit relation with the same woman and he could not tolerate her relation with Sohail Akhtar.

On November 17, 2018, Saroj Yadav saw the woman with Sohail Akhtar in objectionable position and planned to eliminate him. On November 17, when Sohail Akhtar was going on his duty after taking meal, some miscreants shot him dead and escaped. The SP said that during interrogation, the miscreants confessed that they had killed Sohail Akhtar for his illicit relation with the woman.
