Ara : Police arrested an absconding naxalite from village Siyadiha under Chapokhari police station (PS) in Bhojpur District in South Bihar, on November 1, 2021, evening. for allegedly demanding levy form a construction company and burning of JCBs. Police sent him to jail after interrogation

The arrested naxal was identified as Vijay Singh Yadav alias Sunil Singh Yadav of Babubandh under Chauri PS in Bhojpur District. He was absconding since 2006 and had come to village Siyadiha to mediate a dispute between his uncle and nephew, when the police arrested him.

Piro SDPO Rahul Singh said that some naxals had made the labourers engaged in railway line works at village Semrao under Charpokhari PS captive inĀ  2006 and demanded levy from the construction company. They had also burnt two JCBs and a tractor. An FIR was lodged with Charpokhari PS against 25 unknown naxals in this connection.

During investigation, names of eight naxals including Vijay Singh Yadav alias Sunil Singh Yadav figured. Police filed chargesheet against six while one of the accused died during investigation. Vijay Singh Yadav alias Sunil Singh Yadav had fled away to other state and since then he was absconding, SDPO Singh said. The SDPO further said that Vijay Singh Yadav alias Sunil Singh Yadav had come to village Siyadih two days ago to settle a dispute in between his uncle and nephew.
