Ara : A gang rape victim breathed her last at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) on February 20, 2018, evening, during treatment. The married woman was gangraped at her village Pawana in Bhojpur district on January 27, 2018, by four persons.

SHO, Pawana police station in Bhojpur district, Balvant Singh, said that the 22 year old victim was daughter of Om Prakash Pandit of village Pawana and was married to Chintu Pandit of village Pandeydih under Charpokhari police station in Bhojpur district on June 6, 2017.

In January, the woman had come to her father’s home. On January 27, 2018, four persons gangraped her at the village when she had gone to the field to attend the call of nature. Later, a named FIR was lodged with Pawana police station against four persons of the village: Seth Mahto, Sunil Kumar, Pankaj Kumar and Sonu Kumar, on the statement of the victim. Police had arrested three miscreants: Seth Mahato, Sunil Kumar and Sonu Kumar, and sent them to jail.

Fed up with sheer neglect by her husband and other in-laws, she tried to commit suicide by consuming poison. Her family members immediately admitted her to PMCH where breathed her last on February 20 evening.
