Patna :  Ashleigh Barty, 23, Australia, has jumped 6 places in the WTA rankings released on June 10, 2019, to be ranked World No 2 with 6,350 points after winning the women’s singles title at French Open defeating Marketa Vondrousova, 19, Czech Republic, in the final on June 8, 2019. She is now just 136 points behind World No 1 Naomi Osaka, 21, Japan.

Osaka, who lost in the 3rd round of French Open,  has 6,486 points. Marketa Vondrousova has jumped 22 places to be ranked World No 16 with 2,747 points after reaching the final of French open.

Karolina Pliskova, 27, Czech Republic, has slipped one place to be ranked World No 3 with 5,685 points after losing in the 3rd round of French Open. Kiki Bertens, Netherlands, remains World No 4 with 5,345 points while two-time former Wimbledon Champion Petra Kvitová, 29, Czech Republic, has jumped 1 place to be ranked World No 5 with 4,925 points. Winner of three Grand Slam titles Angelique Kerber, 31, Germany, has slipped one place to ranked World No 6 with 4,675 points. Elina Svitolina, 24, Ukraine, has jumped 2 places to be ranked World No 7 with 3,967 points.

But Simona Halep, 27, Romania, has slipped 5 places to be ranked World No 8 with 3,963 points after failing to defend her French Open title in 2019. She lost in the quarter-finals to Amanda Anisimova, 17, USA. Amanda Anisimova has jumped 25 places to be ranked World No 26 with 1,890 points after reaching the SFs at French Open.

Johanna Konta, 28, UK, has jumped 8 places to be ranked World No 18 with 2,555 points after reaching the SFs at French Open. Madison Keys, 24, USA, who lost in the QFs at French Open, has slipped 3 places to be ran ked World No 17 with 2,615 points. Iga Swiatek, 18, Poland, has jumped 37 places to be ranked World No 67 with 853 points after reaching Round of 16 at French Open.

India No 1 Ankita Raina, 26, has slipped 3 places to be ranked World No 173 with 345 points while Karman Kaur Thandi, 20, India, has jumped 4 places to be ranked World No 218 with 257 points. Pranjala Yadlapalli, 20, India, has slipped 2 places to be ranked World No 282 with 175 points.
