Bank employees getting irritated handling huge rush of customers

Patna: The recent decision of PM Narendra Modi to scrap currency notes of Rs 1,000 and Rs 500 denomination and the rush of customers to either exchange these currency notes or deposit them is now taking its toll as the bank employees are now getting irritated and shouted at some of the customers assembled in large number at the gate of SBI branch at Patliputra Colony on Sunday.
A large number of customers had assembled again at the gate of Patliputra Colony branch of State Bank of India since 8 am on Sunday morning. Though the number of customers at that time was ten, it increased manifold as the Sun rose above in the sky. Around 9.45 am, two bank employees including a spectacled person opened the entrance gate of the bank. When some elderly person asked him to open the gate so that people like him could sit inside the bank,
the spectacled man shouted at them.
As the crowd swelled, none of the bank employees were willing to share any information with them. To add to their woes, four ATMs outside the bank were lying closed. Even two police constables were making faces at the senior citizens, though they were later asked by a senior manager to behave properly with the customers. Later, a senior manager came and appealed the people not to create a scene as they were having some problem with the server
of the bank. After sometime, the gate was opened and the customers heaved a sigh of relief.
The bank employees provided some relief to women customer as they were sent to the first floor of the bank. In the melee, some male senior citizens returned empty-handed as there was no separate facilities for them in the bank. Defending the bank employees, a senior employee said that the customers are only bothered about themselves. “We are working overnight after PM announced ban on currency notes on November 8 night. The employees are also coming on Sundays to assist the people and what else do the customers want from us,” he said.
