Patna : World No 95 in ATP rankings Marcos Baghdatis, 33, Cyprus, entered the second round of Wimbledon Tennis championship 2018 when his opponent and World No 7 Dominic Thiem, 24, Austria, retired in the third set.

Baghdatis was leading 6-4, 7-5, 2-0 when Thiem, a finalist in French Open 2018, retired. Thiem committed 8 double faults in the match to 2 by Baghdatis. Baghdatis fired 10 Aces compared to 7 by Thiem. Baghdatis also won three break points.

World No 16 Fabio Fognini also entered the second round defeating Taro Daniel of Japan 3-6, 6-3, 6-3, 6-3. Fognini committed 8 double faults in the match compared to 3 by Daniel. He, however, fired 7 Aces to just 4 by Daniel.
