Bagaha : Members of Bagaha unit of ‘Bihar Bachao Action Committee (BBAC)’ led by its convenor Satish Verma, an advocate, on October 24, 2018, staged a day -long dharna near Sub- Divisional headquarters at Bagaha and demanded National Register Citizens (NRC) for Bihar to evict the people had illegally come from Bangladesh and other countries and settled in the state after registering their names in electoral roll and illegally getting Aadhaar cards too. They said that deportation of foreigners would also check population.

The BBAC activists demanded the people from Nepal, who had encroached on a large tract of Indian territory at  Susta and Narashahi villages in West Champaran district in North Bihar, be evicted at the earliest. They also held a meeting at the dharna venue and criticised the appeasement  policy of Bihar and Central governments. Many speakers including Umesh Gupta, Bhupnarain Yadav, Raju Ranjan Kumar, Amaresh Srivastava lamented the approach of centre as well as Bihar government over the issue. Later on, a delegation led by Satish Verma met SDM, Bagaha, Ghanshyam Meena and handed over to him their three- point demand addressed to President of India.
