Bagaha : Traders of Naraipur station chowk, Bagaha, on November 6, 2017, put the shutters of their shops and business establishments down, to protest refusal by branches of different banks to accept coins of different denomination causing problem to them.

Umesh Kumar Gupta, President of Traders Union, Bagaha, said,” We are being threatened by customers if we do not accept coins. But, the problem is when the traders when go to deposit these coins into branches of different banks, the bankers are reluctant to deposit the same even as the RBI has issued clear guidelines that no bank can refused to deposit the coins”.

A delegation of traders led by Umesh Gupta met SDM, Bagaha, Ghanshyam Meena, in this connection. The SDO called a meeting of Bankers of Bagaha to resolve the issue. The SDO promised the traders to take up the matter with Bank authorities.
