Patna : N G Ka Long Angus, Hong Kong, the 7th seed , and 4th seed Victor Axelsen, Denmark, reached the final of Yonex Thailand Open, an HSBC BWF World Tour Super 1,000 badmiton tournament at Bangkok, Thailand, on January 16, 2021, both winning their respective semi-finals matches in three-games.w.

World No 8 NG Ka Angus beat 2nd seed Chou Tien Chen, Taiwan, in three-games 17-21, 21-18, 21-15 in 66 minutes in semi-finals. Angus won 59 rallies in the match to 54 by Chen. He won 6 consecutive points to 11 by Chen. Chen, however, still leads Angus 10-7 Head to Head.

Viktor Axelsen, the 2017 World Champion, beat 5th seed Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, Indonesia, 21-19, 13-21, 21-13 in 63 minutes in the semi-finals. Axelsen won 55 rallies in the match to 53 by Ginting. The Dane won 9 consecutive points in the match to 7 by Ginting. Ginting still leads Axelsen 4-3 Head to Head.
