Motihari :A Pohibition & Excise Department team, on a tip off, conducted raids at three places in Noniyatoli under Piprakothi police station (PS) in East Champaran District on January 16, 2021, and seized 287 of cartons Indian Made Foreign Liquor worth about Rs 45 lakh and a Pick-Up van when the liquor smugglers were loading the liquor in the van for distribution.
Excise Superintendent Abhinaw Prakash said the liquor cartons were earlier unloaded from a truck and stored at three different places. On January 16, these cartons were being loaded the on a pickup by some persons who fled away after seeing the Excise Department team. No arrest was made in this case but three liquor smugglers have been identified and they would be arrested soon, he said.
