Ara: On ASI was killed while his brother was seriously injured when their motorcycle collided head–on with a speeding truck near Amrai Nawada village under Bihia police station in Bhojpur district on Wednesday evening. The driver of the truck escaped with the truck. Police brought the body to Ara Sadar Hospital for post-mortem and admitted the injured there. The doctor at Ara Sadar Hospital referred the injured to Patna Medical College and Hospital in view of his seriois condition.
SHO, Bihia police station, said that ASI Pradeep Kumar Rai, son of Devanand of Birampur village under Koelwar police station, along with his younger brother Dharmnath Kumar Rai was going to his native village from Bihia on his motorcycle. When he reached near Amrai Nawada village, a speeding truck from opposite direction collided head-on with his motorcycle killing him on the spot. The ASI was posted at Lakhisarai while his brother is a guard at Bihia branch of Punjab National Bank.
