Ara : An ashtdhatu idol of lord Ram was stollen by some armed miscreants from the Ram Janki temple at village Chatarbhuji Barav under Piro police station in Bhojpur district around midnight on August 24, 2017, after making the priest of the temple Gupteshwar Das alias Bal Brahmchari captive by tying him with ropes.
When the priest raised an alarm, the villagers rushed to the temple and freed the priest. An FIR has been lodged with Piro police station on the statement of the priest Gupteshwar Das alias Bal Brahmchari. Police also quizzed the priest for several hours. The thives had stolen idols from the temple earlier too.
