Patna : Triple jumper Arpinder Singh, 25, India, won Gold Medal in the men’s Triple Jump at the 18th Asian Games at Jakarta-Palembang, Indonesia, on August 29, 2018, by leaping 16.77m in the final. It is India’s 10th Gold Medal at the on going Asian Games.

Arpinder alias Bobby hails from Harsa Chhina, Amritsar, Punjab. His personal best is 17.17m attained at Lucknow in 2014. Arpinder had won Bronze Medal in this event at 2014 Commonwealth Games at Glasgow.

India has won Gold Medal in Triple Jump at the Asian Games after a gap of 48 years. Mohinder Singh Gill had won Gold Medal in the event in 1970 with a jump of 16.11m.
