Ara residents demand CBI probe into trader Kumarji murder case

Ara : Under the banner ‘Nagrik Samaj, a social organization, hundreds of residents of Ara blocked the Ara-Patna main road near Dharahara locality under Town police station, Ara, on September 4, 2017, to protest  police failure to arrest the main accused in the murder of a businessman Krishna Kumar Singh alias Kumarji, son of a businessman late Ram Khelawan Singh. They were also demanding CBI probe into his murder.

The protesters took out a procession from Bhaluhipur that passed through the main thoroughfares of the town and culminated at Dharahara locality where they blocked the Ara-Patna road for about four hours. They raised slogans against the police administration for allegedly shielding the main accused in the murder.

Addressing the gathering, Dilip Singh, nephew of the deceased, said that even after over two months, the main accused are still moving scot free. He said that people of the area had not faith in police inquiry and demanded a CBI probe into the murder.

Krishna Kumar Singh alias Kumar Ji was shot dead in Padav locality near Model Institute under Town police station on July 2, 2017, when he was returning home. A named FIR was lodged with Town police station against 10 persons including Indrabhan Singh, former Bhojpur district president, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Munnu Singh, son of Malti Devi, Deputy Mayor, Ara Municipal Corporation, notorious criminal  Chand Mian and his brother Nayeem Mian. The police arrested seven unnamed persons while the named accused surrendered either before the court or police and were sent to jail. But, the main accused are allegedly still at large.
