Ara : Hundreds of residents of Ara blocked the Ara-Buxar main road near Jagjiwan College on June 18, 2017, for about four hours raising slogans against Bhojpur district administration. They burnt tyres on the road and paralyzed movement of vehicles to protest the poor condition of NH 84. The road blockade was organized under the banner of Jagruk Nagrik Adhikar Manch led by Ashok Kumar Tiwari.
Ashok Kumar Tiwari said that the NH 84 near Jagjiwan College had turned into a knee deep ditch and is non-motorable. He said that the they had moved to the District Magistrate and submitted petitions several times requesting him to get the road repaired but to no avail so far.
