Buxar : In a bizarre incident, five members of a family suddenly lost their vision at village Mahila  under Itadhi police station in Buxar district on June 17, 2017, and were admitted to Buxar Sadar Hospital but the doctors there referred them to Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) on June 18.

Mohan Singh,  whoworks  at a scrape shop in Hyderabad, had come to his village on June 15. He had brought over some gloves and cloths soaked in some chemicals from the shop. He asked his wife to wash the cloths and gloves so that he could use them. When his wife was washing the clothes and gloves, she felt  burning sensation in her eyes and cried. Hearing her cry, her sons and husband rushed to her. As they went there, they also felt burning sensation in their eyes immediately. Within minutes, the news reached the villagers who rushed them to the Primay Health Centre (PHC) but the doctor sent them to the Buxar Sadar Hospital.

Dr K N Gupta, Buxar Sadar Hospital, said that it was effect of the chemicals and the matter is very serious as it is related to eye and so the patients were referred to the PMCH.
