Ara : Additional District and Sessions Judge I, Ara, Yoghesh Narayan Tiwari on June 14, 2017, sentenced Saroj Yadav of village Varsai under Tarari police station in Bhojpur district to 20 year rigorous imprisonment (RI) and also slapped a fine of Rs 20,000 on him for outraging the modesty of a 22 year old dalit woman.
APP Satyendra Singh Dara said that three miscreants including Saroj Yadav of Varasi village entered the house of the woman of the same village and outraged her modesty on April 27, 2016, when her parents had gone to visit their relatives at the neighbouring village. He said an FIR was lodged with Tarari police station against three persons on the statement of mother of the victim. The APP said that the rest two miscreants are still absconding.
