Ara : Hundreds of students of different colleges, inmates of Rajkiya Ambedkar Awasiya Uchch Vidyalay and activists of All India Students’ Association on December 15 blocked the Ara-Buxar main road near Maulabagh locality under Town police station, Ara,  and raised slogans against Bhojpur district administration to protest the death of a school student allegedly due to cold.

A class VII student Raja, son of Sri Bhagwan of Saisar village under Dinara police station in Rohtas district studying at Rajkiya Ambedkar Awasiya Uchch Vidyalay at Maulabagh locality under Town police station, died due to cold when he was going to bed at about 10 pm on December 14. The agitating students said that government and the district administration have remained indifferent towards the problems facing them for the last two years. They were not given woolen clothes, shoes, blankets and other basic amenities. They demanded immediate restoration of basic amenities and a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the family of Raja. The blockade was lifted after the SDO, DWO and DDC assured them to fulfil their demands.
