Buxar: The construction of building of Additional primary health centre (APHC) at village Amsari under Chaugai block in Buxar district has not been completed despite lapse of 20 years. The underconstruction APHC building is being used by the villagrs to keep their cattleheads and fodder. The APHC is being run in a rented house but no doctor or paramedical staff comes here.

Rajiv Kumar Singh alias Pintu Singh, mukhia, Khewali Panchayat, said that construction of a six bed APHC building started two decades ago but has not been completed due to indifferent attitude of the health department and officials of the district administration. Though the officials were informed about it and requested to complete the building several times but to no avail. He said the officials say the APHC would become operational after the building is handed over to the health department after completion.

Dr. Binod Pratap Singh, medical officer, PHC, Chaugai, said that the senior officials of the health department had been apprised of the situation and requested to complete the work on priority basis.
