AMC notice to 30 defaulters

Ara: Ara Municipal Corporation (AMC) has issued notice to 30 defaulters asking them to pay their holding tax within 15 days failing which it would initiate action against them. Municipal commissioner, AMC,  Pramod Kumar said that 30 persons, who have not cleared more than Rs one lakh arrear of Holding tax, have been issued notices to pay their holding tax within 15 days. He said Corporation Regulation Act 2012 authorizes the Municipal commissioner to confiscate property of defaulters, sale them and stop water supply and other facilities.  He said the AMC may attach the property and fix interest on arrear amount of such defaulters. He said if the defaulters fail to pay the holding tax within 15 days after receiving the notice from the AMC, their all facilities would be stopped.
