Embezzlement of Rs 2.1 cr, FIR lodged against Buxar Dist Welfare Officer

Buxar: On the direction of  Buxar DM Raman Kumar, an FIR was lodged with Buxar Town police station on Friday against District Welfare Officer (DWO) Rakesh Kumar in connection with alleged embezzlement of Rs. 2.10 crore meant for grant of scholarship to the students. SDO Gautam Kumar registered an FIR against the DWO. SDO Gautam Kumar said that matter of alleged misappropriation of over Rs 2 crore meant for distribution scholarship to the students came to light during an inquiry and the DWO was found involved in it. The signature of the then District Programme Officer Ram Nath Ram has been sent to the handwriting expert and if his handwriting tallies with those on documents, action would also be taken against him. He said officials of the banks are also being quizzed in this regard.
