Alert loco pilot averts major accident in Buxar

Buxar : Timely action by an alert loco pilot of Danapur – Secundrabad Express averted a major accident near Baruna railway station under Danapur division of East Central Railway (ECR), Hajipur, late evening on April 22, 2017.

PRO, Danapur rail division, R K Singh said that Danapur- Secundarabad Express train was to pass from Buxar in the late evening on April 22 but some unidentified miscreants had put several big stones on the down rail track with a view to overturn the train near pole no 652/7 at Parasia village near Baruna railway station under Danapur rail division of ECR. But the driver of the train spotted the stones and applied emergency brake and stopped the train and averted a major accident.

The loco pilot immediately informed the control room about it. Although no untoward incident occurred, the pressure valve of AC B 3 coach and water tank of AC B 2 were damaged considerably. Passengers of the train were frightened but the escort party in the train told them that the train had stopped due to some technical fault. The PRO said that investigation was going on into the matter. In 1990s, the naxalites had blown up Baruna railway station twice with dynamite and detonator and damaged the railway station.
